On January 14, 2023, ministers, ministerial workers, and INC Museum staff, gathered at the INC Museum Conference Room to attend their first lecture as part of the Certificate Program in Heritage and Museum Management launched by New Era University Center for Philippine Studies (NEU-CPS) in partnership with Iglesia Ni Cristo Museum.
Dr. Vicente Villan, history professor at the University of the Philippines, lectured about the Introduction to Heritage Studies. The lecture included discussions on heritage as a concept and wide arrays of research areas and practices pertaining to tangible structures and objects viewed from interdisciplinary perspectives.
Certificate Program in Heritage and Museum Management is an introductory course to the theoretical foundations, operations, and pragmatics of heritage and museum. The program consists 8-12 synchronous lectures, directed readings and viewings, and educational tours. Under the program, the students also have an opportunity to develop a publishable research paper on heritage and museum.
