On May 18, 2022, New Era University Center for Philippine Studies (CPS) celebrated its first anniversary. Since its establishment in 2021, NEU-CPS has been fulfilling its mandate – to foster greater interest and call for more academic researches on Philippine culture and history by launching various activities such as webinars, online educational programs, and research endeavors.
This year’s celebration with the theme “Pagpapayabong ng Kaalamang Bayan Tungo sa Paglilingkod sa Sangkatauhan” was graced by the invited guest speaker, Dr. Carlos P. Tatel Jr., an associate professor at the Department of Anthropology, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, University of the Philippines Diliman. During the event, an audio-visual presentation about CPS was shown and was followed by the introduction of CPS advisers. Dr. Vicente C. Villan, one of the CPS advisers, delivered the closing remarks, thanking his fellow scholars who have helped in the establishment of the Center and the University leadership for its support.
